Eve of Construction (Re-Broadcast)

At the request of former president Jimmy Carter, Tool Time has agreed to build some houses for Habitat for Humanity, and dispatches Tim and Al on location to head up each of their own construction teams. For Tim’s part, he’s chosen a who’s who of NFL players, as well as Evander Holyfield. Al has chosen a set of women professionals, including Jill, to construct his house. As they go head-to-head, is there any question as to who the winner will be?

Meanwhile, Brad has found a golden locket in the alleyway behind the house, and gives it to his girlfriend Ashley, only to discover that the locket belongs to Marie, who desperately wants it back.

Be True to Your Tool with Loryn Stone (Re-Broadcast)

Filling the shoes of the recently-passed Mr. Binford, Wes Davidson has assumed the role of the president of Binford, and pays Tool Time a visit. He informs Tim and Al that Binford is producing a new reciprocating saw, and that they will be promoting it on an upcoming show. However, when Tim and Al get their hands on the product, they realize that it isn’t up to the rigorous standards of the Binford name. When they refuse to feature it on the show, Wes gives Tim the ultimatum: feature it or we’ll find a new host. This puts Tim in a position to weigh his morals with his job.

Tim Taylor (Tim Allen) is about to turn 40, and is looking forward to celebrating with a massive steak and some vigorous lovemaking with Jill (Patricia Richardson). But when one of his friends at the hardware store suffers a heart attack, Tim becomes paranoid about his health and begins taking extreme precautions, such as eating vegetables and lean meats. When Wilson (Earl Hindman) reveals to Tim that he himself suffered a heart attack 15 years ago, and explains how the experience encouraged him to live life to the fullest, he decides to go back to his old ways. Meanwhile, on Tool Time, Tim and Al (Richard Karn) use a state-of-the-art shrink ray to become four inches tall and take a field trip inside the engine of a dysfunctional hot rod.

When Mr. Binford dies, everyone is emotionally affected by his passing except Tim Taylor (Tim Allen). While Al (Richard Karn) and Jill (Patricia Richardson) are both moved to tears by the death of a man who’s played a major role in their lives and careers, Tim finds himself unable to cry about it because he doesn’t know how to grieve his old friend. After Wilson (Earl Hindman) explains that people grieve in different ways, Tim celebrates Mr. Binford’s life with a 21 nail gun salute.

Meanwhile, Jill has been roped into stuffing envelopes for yet another library fundraiser. She enlists the boys (Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Zachary Ty Bryan and Taran Noah Smith) for help with mixed results.

It’s Halloween again, and as tradition would have it, the Taylors are hosting their annual costume party. Things are all spoofs and goofs until Tim receives a letter from an obsessed fan names Rose. Initially boastful of this, he then learns the dangers such a fan poses after Wilson suggests possible mental instability. This ignites Tim’s paranoia, as the messages from Rose increase in frequency and intent. With the claim that she’ll be at his party, Tim aptly freaks out.
